5 Secrets To Increase Your Protein Intake

Sharing is caring!

Nutrition, as they say, is 80-90% of the war to build muscle fast and at the top of that list is to increase protein intake.

Read our article here to know just how much protein you need to build muscle.

However getting our daily protein goals can become quite tricky, I mean if it was easy everyone would be huge!

Today I would like to give you 5 strategies to make sure you hit your protein goals every day to build muscle fast.

#1 Protein At Breakfast

Throw out your favorite cereal or the quintessential 2 slices of toast with jam on.

These have a lot of carbs in them and not much protein.

So exchange the cereal for eggs and the toast for bacon or macon.

Most of us are also very busy during the day and sometimes it becomes hard to hit protein goals during the day while we are so busy.

This is why it is so important to have a high protein breakfast so you already hit a large portion of your protein goal.

It makes it easier to fill in the gaps then during the day instead of trying to cram in 200g of protein or more in the space of a couple of hours at dinner or lunch for example.

Another good way is to start the day off with a protein shake together with your regular breakfast.

#2 Have a Protein Shake Ready Right After Training

This is another great habit to start doing, make your protein shake before heading to the gym.

Leave it ready in your bag and just add water the second you are done training and chug it down.

A great example of a good protein powder is Dymatize ISO 100 Whey Protein Powder Isolate, this offers excellent value for money and excellent protein per serving.

This works great with mass gainer protein shakes too when you are trying to cram in those extra calories to build muscle fast.

#3 Have More Than One Shaker

This may sound a bit weird to some but this tip alone has helped me a lot!
When I only had one shaker then sometimes it would still be dirty or it would smell funny.

Then the last thing I would want to do is go and clean that shaker and put bleach in it to fix the smell.

This would lead me to miss crucial shakes and it slowed down progress.

I then thought of this solution and went and got myself some extra shakers so I was ready for anything.

It makes it so much easier, and then when you have time clean the dirty ones and keep them ready so you can repeat the cycle.

This small tip alone can help you a lot to make sure you are always getting your shakes in.

#4 Protein Snacks Everywhere

Another great way to make sure you reach your daily protein goal is to have protein-rich snacks around you all the time.

So put some beef jerky in your bag or some peanuts and have them on hand to snack on during the day.

By constantly grazing on high protein snacks during the day it becomes so easy to fill in the gaps later in the day so you make sure you hit your protein goals to build muscle fast every day.

This also helps with overall calories too if you are trying to bulk to build muscle fast.

#5 Consume Protein With Every Meal

This way helped me a lot personally. Simply take your daily protein requirements and divide them by the number of meals you have.

So, for example, let us say you need 200g of protein per day.

If you can only get 3 meals in a day and you have 1 protein shake with 75g of protein in this leaves you with 125g of protein.

So just ensure you get around 42g protein per meal for your 3 remaining meals.

If you are a more advanced lifted and require to say 300g protein per day and you have one protein shake per day of 75g and you eat 5 times per day.

Then it is as easy as getting 45g of protein per meal in your 5 meals.

Breaking it up into smaller chunks is so much easier then trying to force in 300g of protein in 2 or 3 hours if you have skipped protein in your meals earlier in the day.

I hope these 5 tips will help you reach your daily protein intake goals easier and help you build muscle fast!
